The Story Behind Recuperate MassageÂ
Recuperate Massage originally started at a salon boutique on Windhaven in Plano, TX in 2011 by therapist Theresa, who graduated from the Parker School of Massage in 2010. As a new, skilled therapist a year into the industry, she struggled with advertising and driving traffic to her office, so she closed the business after six months.
In 2016, Recuperate Massage reopened on Paige Road inside Paige Plaza in The Colony, TX. Theresa had co-signed on a loan for her oldest son and was in a bit of a financial bind, but she took a leap of faith on her business again. Only this time, she found just the right type of advertisement to drive customers to her massage suite. In a short period of time, her clientele went from zero to fully booked, and she paid off the loan she co-signed on within six months. What she thought would be temporary turned into a long-term success thanks to all her loyal clients who found her services to be unique, alongside visibility from platforms like Groupon, Google, and word-of-mouth client referrals! Looking back, she recongnizes that everything happens for a reason and credits her success to faith and a God-given gift for helping others.
Theresa's husband, Troy, was inspired by all she was doing to help others and decided to attend Sterling Health Center so he could join her. He graduated in 2017 and works one to two Saturdays a month providing quality massage services.
In 2022, Recuperate relocated to Leezaspace in Carrollton, TX due to a building code change at Paige Plaza. That same year was also when Theresa left her job of nine and a half years to work for herself full-time.
Today, Recuperate Massage is more than a massage business —it’s a place to pause, breathe, and feel truly cared for. We’re honored to be part of your healing journey.
